Matthew McConaughey is a foot above the rest.
The Oscar winner stopped by “The View” on Tuesday to promote his new book, “Just Because,” and got busy instead promoting his skills as an expert foot finagler when he decided to give co-host Joy Behar some love, affection and a hilarious foot rub.
“This is my dad’s trick,” the 53-year-old Texan explained while pampering Behar, 80.
This wasn’t the first time the actor took a liking to the red-head’s footsies. On March 10, 2006, McConaughey rubbed Behar’s feet while they were sprawled across the lap of former “View” co-host Elisabeth Hasselbeck.
After a short clip aired, Behar reveled in the moment from 17 years ago. As a smile spread across her face, she said it was a precious “highlight” of her life.
She quickly plopped her leg onto the Hot Topics table and encouraged the “Sing 2” star to put his hands on her appendage by jokingly declaring, “It so happens I got a pedicure this week.”
McConaughey credited his amazing handiwork to his father and admitted that it helped him with the ladies when he was younger.
“Now if you remember what that was inspired from, my dad would do this,” he explained. “I’ve got two older brothers, every time we had a date come over, we noticed they’d come over earlier and earlier, we’re going out at 8 and they’d show up at 7.”
He continued, “Who’s sitting on the couch getting a foot rub? Your date. My dad would always give a foot rub.”
Behar revealed that McConaughey had definitely done his father proud, proclaiming, “Reflexology is your next career.”
Seemingly not impressed by the foot rub, however, was Whoopi Goldberg, 67, who said, “I’m just going to let all of that go by,” before trying to redirect the conversation to more important topics.
In 2021, it was reported that the “Dallas Buyers Club” star had been making calls to elite politically-connected Texans to discuss getting into the 2022 gubernatorial race.
On Tuesday, the “View” hosts discussed if McConaughey may one day be headed for a Texas governor run.
“As far as office, I will always measure what category I can be most useful,” he said. “One thing about me and politics is, to give you a direct statement right there is me playing a game I’m not interested in playing.”
